The annual No Tricks, Just Treats event put on by the YMCA of San Benito County brought out more than 300 local children Saturday who paraded along Fifth Street and took part in an array of activities such as pumpkin bowling and a costume contest.

Attendance was up this year over last year, while an array of businesses also took part by either donating items or inviting the kids to trick-or-treat at their shops once the activities were done on a blocked-off Fifth Street, said Rochelle Callis, executive director of the county’s YMCA.

Aside from the costume contest, parade and pumpkin bowling, some of the other activities included face painting, soccer, basketball and a lollipop draw, Callis said.

Winners in the costume contest included the following:

Ages 6 and older:

1st place: Brandon Roan, caveman

2nd place: Lilliana Perez, puppet

3rd place: Leilani Moll, Mrs. Frankenstein

Honorable mention: Ryoko Natt, Super Mario

Ages 5 and younger:

1st place: Delilah Sanchez, butterfly

2nd place: Alexander Gonzalez, Captain Hook

3rd place: Madison and Mckenzie Wallace, China dolls

Honorable mention: Nicole Torres, leopard
