The San Benito County Integrated Waste Management Regional Agency will host a free Recycle Day event May 30 for residents to safely dispose of household hazardous waste, tires, mattresses and electronic waste.
The event will take place 9am-1pm Sheriff’s Department and Resource Management Agency parking lot, 2301 Technology Parkway in Hollister.
Accepted items include paint, motor oil, batteries, fluorescent bulbs and household cleaning products. Residents must provide proof of residency, and disposal is limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip. Business waste will not be accepted.
County officials said the event aims to help residents properly dispose of hazardous materials while supporting community sustainability efforts.
Residents unable to attend the May 30 event can also use the county’s monthly household hazardous waste collection program, held the third Saturday of each month from 9am-noon at the John Smith Road Landfill, 2650 John Smith Road in Hollister.
