Pet Friends and SHARE are still accepting donations through its
Paws to Light Up the Night fundraiser. A 30-foot tree is set up at
the Pet Friends Center and each light represents a donation. For a
$10 minimum donation, a light will be lit up and the donors name
will be entered in a memory book at the center. The tree, which is
visible from Hwy. 156, will be lit up every night through Jan. 15.
Donors who give $50 or more will receive a handmade ornament.

Donations go to the care of dogs and cats at the rescue facility, and donations can be specified for the spay/neuter discount coupon program. In 2008 and 2009, Pet Friends assisted in the spaying or neutering of 900 dogs and cats, at a cost of $27,000.

The lights can be purchased in honor of a beloved pet, a loved one or as a gift for someone who loves animals.

If you would like to volunteer or make a donation, please call the Center at 634-1191 for more information, go to the Web site at www.petfriends.org or visit at 2975 Buena Vista Road between 10 am and 3 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
