The Balers football team is ready to get back to its winning ways this season as it prepares for its first game Sept. 15 against Milpitas.

Fall sports practice precedes school bells
Shorter days and back-to-school sales mean one thing
– it is that time in San Benito County.
While other teenagers are dreading the arrival of early-morning
shool days, some of those on San Benito High School’s fall sports
teams have already been practicing for weeks. The Haybalers worked
hard in the last days before school started, pounding the pavement,
practicing drills and passing the ball.
The boys’ cross country team looked determined during a run
along the San Benito Riverbed. The girls’ cross country team
trained for victory with long, exhausting runs. During practice,
Baler football players looked ready for a winning season and a shot
at taking the Prune Bowl title back from the rival Gilroy Mustangs.
Other fall sports at San Benito High include girls’ tennis, girls’
volleyball and girls’ golf.
