Members of a local church and the Marley Holte Holiday Dinner board of directors have planned meals that are open and free to the public this Thanksgiving holiday.

On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, there will be two dinners – the Marley Holte Holiday Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hollister and the Mission San Juan Bautista Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. in San Juan.

Both events need more volunteers, and donations are still welcome.

“High school students can use this as community service hours,” said Larry Brown, a member of the board of directors for the Marley Holte Holiday Dinner.

Volunteer opportunities start after 5 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

The dinners are open to anyone and are free of charge.
