Santa brings rain for Christmas
Hurray, the rain has finally arrived! It’s beginning to look and
feel a lot like Christmas now. We got a nice rain shower on Sunday
night and the rain is continuing on Monday morning. We had about
0.80 inch in Bitterwater, while John Rianda reported 1 inch over at
Rock Springs and Wyatt Bourdet reported 1.20 at his place in
Hollister. Merry Christmas everyone!

Hurray, the rain has finally arrived! It’s beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas now. We got a nice rain shower on Sunday night and the rain is continuing on Monday morning. We had about 0.80 inch in Bitterwater, while John Rianda reported 1 inch over at Rock Springs and Wyatt Bourdet reported 1.20 at his place in Hollister. Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas celebrations are starting to take place everywhere. Bitterwater Tully School students held their Christmas program last Wednesday night at Tully Hall. The kids sang a lot of Christmas carols, followed by a potluck and a visit from Santa. Some of those enjoying the evening included Jeff and Jean Schmidt, Donna Hansen, Jim and Betty Barrington, Lynette Hurley, Kuulei Flores and Ruth Records and Roberta Oswald.

Gregg and Sami Jo Johnsen hosted a “Cousins’ Christmas” last Saturday night at their place. Instead of the cousins exchanging gifts this year, they held a family fun night for the kids. The kids played board games, watched Christmas movies and ate lots of pizza. They also celebrated Brody’s birthday with a birthday cake. Enjoying the evening were the Rory and Jo Ellen Johnsen, Sierra, Buddy and Brody Sans, Wade Garza and Taylor, Twyster, Tatum and Tryan Hurley.

Birthday wishes go out to Brody who celebrated on the 13th. He spent his birthday branding calves with his dad for Stan and Jamie Pura in Hollister. Some of those also helping Stan and Jamie included John Rianda and Kyla Prunty, Wyatt Bourdett and Lacie Taliaferro, John Hitchcock, John Eade and Jeff Rianda. After the branding, they stopped by the 19th Hole for a Roy Rogers for Brody’s birthday.

Many South County folks enjoyed a few days in Las Vegas last week for the National Finals Rodeo. Some of those enjoying some time away included Hec and Kasey Hurley, J.W. and Candace Brewen, Andy and Tamra Barrington, Casey Sabin, Kenny and Vickie Sabin and the Gene Strohn Family. It sure was nice having the NFR televised earlier this year. I was actually able to stay up and watch every go round this year without falling asleep! The favorites in our household this year included the legendary Billy Etbaur, the up-and-coming Tuf Cooper and Trevor Brazile.

Bill and Robin Rist and Brushed Up Ministries will be hosting their annual Christmas service this Sunday, Dec. 21 at Tully Hall. Providing Christmas music this year will be Rich Casey and Randy Handley. The service begins at 6 and will end with music and refreshments. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
