LL sign-ups upcoming in December
Registration for the 2009 Hollister Little League season will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 218 of the Veteran’s Memorial Building in downtown Hollister. The league is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 16, with levels of play ranging from T-ball through senior league. Registration forms will be available at the sign-ups. Holiday Baseball Camp slated at SBHS
The Holiday Baseball Camp will be held from Dec. 20-23 at San Benito High School for boys and girls ages 8- to 12-years-old (Little League age as of 2009). Camp 1 will contain three sessions. Session I is pitching and catching, and will take place from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Session II is infield, and will be held from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Session III is hitting, and is slated from 11 to 11:50 a.m. The cost is $55 per person or $150 for all three sessions. Last year’s camp sold out, so sign up early. Camp 2 will contain one and a half hours of skills and one hour of games. It will be held from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Cost is $100 for the four-day camp. Pride of Morgan Hill to hold tryouts
The Pride of Morgan Hill fast pitch travel softball team will hold tryouts for its 2009 summer season at the Community Park off Tenant Avenue in Morgan Hill. On Dec. 7 and 14, pitchers and catchers will tryout from 12 to 1 p.m., position players from 1 to 3 p.m. Girls are encouraged to tryout both days for maximum exposure. The Pride will form ASA “A” division teams for 10U, 12U and 14U. Players age group is determined by their age as of Jan. 1, 2009. Registration will open at 11:30 a.m. Pride is currently recruiting qualified, experienced coaches for upcoming seasons. Interested in coaching, please submit a coaches application at the next Pride Board meeting on Dec. 10.
