Auto theft
A 2002 Suzuki sport utility vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Sunnyslope Lane in Hollister between 5pm Saturday and 9:30am Sunday, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.
Burglary
Burglars smashed the window of a vehicle in the parking lot of Spudnut & Deli on Tres Pinos Road in Hollister between 6:30am and 10am Sunday, police said. Burglars took a purse and used an ATM card at stores throughout Hollister, police said. The suspects were described as a heavy-set Hispanic woman in her 20s wearing a black jacket, black pants and black knit cap and a Hispanic man in his 20s with short hair and a mustache, wearing a black jacket and light pants, police said.
Arrests
Parole violation
Joshua Martinez Barraza, 27, of San Juan Bautista, was arrested by California state parole officers on suspicion of felony parole violation; felon in possession of a firearm, a felony; possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor; participation in a criminal street gang, a felony; and committing a felony for the benefit of a criminal street gang, a misdemeanor; after officers and San Benito County sheriff’s deputies made a parole search of Barraza’s home and found a shotgun hidden in a heater and marijuana at 4pm Friday, deputies said.
Resisting arrest
Scott Scribiner, 41, of the 8000 block of Lovers Lane in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of misdemeanor resisting arrest and a felony bench warrant after deputies went to his home to arrest him on the warrant at 12:20am Sunday, deputies said. Scribiner kicked a deputy during the arrest, deputies said.
Driving under the influence
Travis James Hoffmeister, 22, of the 800 block of Mica Court Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after sheriff’s deputies turned him over to CHP officers on Freitas Road west of Mitchell Road in San Juan Bautista at 11pm Friday, according to the CHP.
Ada Gori, 61, of Gilroy, was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after sheriff’s deputies turned her over to CHP officers on Best Road east of Highway 25 at 11:56pm Saturday, according to the CHP.
Danika Vogel, 18, of Gilroy, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at Black Forest Drive and Sunnyslope Road in Hollister at 1:13am Saturday, police said.
Threats
Jeanette Marie Silva, 37, of Morgan Hill, was arrested by police on suspicion of making threats with intent to terrorize, after leaving several threatening voicemails on another woman’s phone at 9:39am Saturday, police said. Silva left the messages between 8pm Thursday and 8am Friday, police said.
Domestic violence
David Agular Bocanegra, 43, of Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of felony domestic violence after deputies responded to a residence where a woman was kicked and hit to the ground at 2:36pm Sunday, deputies said. When deputies arrived they found the victim had red marks on her body, deputies said.
Alfonso Jarquin Rosales, 34, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of felony domestic violence after a woman was head-butted during an argument and suffered a nosebleed at 8:42pm, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
