Finally! The hills of South County are finally showing a touch
of green due to the nice little rain showers we got last week.
Nothing big down here, but, better than nothing at all. It’ll darn
sure keep us going for a little while longer anyway.

Finally!  The hills of South County are finally showing a touch of green due to the nice little rain showers we got last week.  Nothing big down here, but, better than nothing at all.  It’ll darn sure keep us going for a little while longer anyway.

Congratulations goes out to Tim Hearne and to Emogene Willoughby for being named Monterey County Cattleman and Cattle woman of the Year last Friday afternoon at the Cattlemen’s Spring Meeting in King City.  It was a well deserved honor for both of them for all the hard work they have contributed to their associations over the years.

The Bitterwater Lady Badgers played well again last week against both Greenfield and Chualar.  The girls are currently undefeated in their league.  This week they will play at Soledad on Tuesday afternoon, then, against King City’s San Lorenzo Junior High on Thursday.  The game in King City begins at 4 p.m.. at the Expo Building.  Come out and cheer our girls on.

The King City High Lady Mustangs have two big games this week.  Currently they are tied for first place with Santa Catalina and Stevinson.  They play both of these teams on Monday night and Friday night.  Be sure to go watch and support the Lady Mustangs on Friday night in King City.

Jefferson School hosted its annual Dessert Fundraising Auction last Friday night at the school. It was a very successful event with lots of delicious desserts. The auction raised over $1,000.00.

Shelly Brower will be hosting the Bitterwater Tully School Hot Lunch this Friday at the school.  The event begins at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

The California High School Rodeo Association, District 4, will be hosting a multi-district rodeo this weekend at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City.  Many South County students will be participating.  If your looking for something to do on Saturday or Sunday, be sure to check out the action there.
