– The Baler Education Foundation is seeking nominations for the
Baler Hall of Fame. Nominees can include graduates, coaches,
teachers, staff members or volunteers who had a significant impact
at the high school during their time on campus. Nomination forms

Farm Day volunteers

HOLLISTER – The San Benito County Farm Bureau is looking for volunteers to help with San Benito County Ag in the Classroom “Farm Day.” The event will be at Bolado Park, Tuesday, March 20 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Third graders from all over the county will come to the park to learn about agriculture and nutrition. Volunteer class guides are needed to work with the 1,000 children who are expected at the event. For more information, contact Nancy Griffin at 637-7643.

Kindergarten registration

HOLLISTER – North County Joint Union School District is now registering kindergarten children for the 2007/2008 school year. Registration packets can be picked up at the Spring Grove School office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on school days. Kinder classes are 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and have a maximum of 20 students per teacher.

Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old by Dec. 2, 2007. The following information is required:

· Birthdate verification

· CHPD examination

· Oral health assessment

· Proof of residency

· Immunizations including polio, OPV or IPV; DTP/DTaP/DT/Td; MMR; Hepatitis B; Varicella and a TB skin test.

Town hall on public broadcasting

SALINAS – Northern California Public Broadcasting has invited local residents to a town hall meeting at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, Tues. March 6 at 6 p.m. The focus of the meeting is the recent merger of KQED, KTEH, and KCAH, which offers public broadcasting to Watsonville and the Salinas Valley. Wildlife center dinner

TRES PINOS – The Nan Pipestem Wildlife Rehabilitation Center’s 11th annual BBQ dinner, raffle and live auction will be Sat., March 24 at Bolado Park Fairgrounds in the Pavilion. The raffle starts at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided by Famous Dave’s BBQ – barbecued ribs, chicken, Texas brisket, beans, salad and muffins. All proceeds from the no-host bar go to the center.

The center is still accepting donations for the auction.

Pinnacles input

HOLLISTER – The National Park Service is putting together a Pinnacles National Monument general management plan and is asking for input from locals. Residents can share their thoughts by e-mailing
