Mini mind games can help golfers

For most golfers scoring well in 18 holes of golf can be overwhelming. How many times have you finished nine holes and said, “I’m glad that’s over, now I can start to play.”

Most people figure they play bad on a few holes of the front nine and can’t wait to get on the tenth hole to start over. Here is something that will help you keep your head in a round of eighteen holes.

Take a scorecard and cut it into six three hole sections. At the bottom write down what your usual score is on each hole. Be honest, just because you may have birdied the fifth hole once doesn’t mean that’s your usual score.

Now when you go out to play you are really playing six different ‘threes.’ After you finish three holes, you are starting a new ’round.’ Even if you are three over your normal score just make sure you put the last three behind you and start over. Remember as soon as your spikes step onto the 1st tee, you start playing golf in your head. This should help strengthen the muscle that lives there. Play well.
