Horse Rustling
A horse named James was stolen from the rear yard of a home at about 6am Friday in the 800 block of Chappell Road in Hollister, according to the Hollister Police Department. The 2-year-old male bay horse has a white star on his forehead, police said. He is worth $10,000, police said. There are no suspects, but authorities believe the thieves have experience handling horses.

Domestic Violence
A 43-year-old Hollister man was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of domestic violence, a felony, after officers responded to a disturbance call at 11:38pm Friday in Hollister, police said. A woman had been pushed to the ground, police said.
Driving Under the Influence
A 25-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, after a traffic stop at 7:44pm Friday at Salinas and Mission Vineyard roads in San Benito County, deputies said.
A 36-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at 2:46am Saturday at the intersection of Buena Vista and Wright roads in San Benito County, deputies said.
A 48-year-old Santa Cruz woman was arrested by the CHP on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after San Benito County sheriff’s deputies stopped her at 9:05pm Saturday on Shore Road west of Frazier Lake Road in San Benito County, deputies said.
A 26-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at 2:44am Sunday in the 400 block of Fourth Street in Hollister, police said.
A 38-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at 2:18am Monday on San Benito Street in Hollister, police said.
Discharging a Firearm
A 54-year-old San Juan Bautista man was arrested by deputies on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, a felony, after a neighbor said a bullet hit his house at 7:43am Saturday in the 900 block of Chittenden Road in San Juan Bautista, deputies said.
Drug Possession
A 24-year-old Hollister man was arrested by deputies on suspicion of drug possession, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after a vehicle check at 9:20pm Saturday in the 200 block of McCray Street in Hollister, deputies said. Authorities found a suspected methamphetamine pipe and 4.38 grams of suspected methamphetamine, deputies said.
Public Intoxication
A 22-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by police on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor, after officers responded to a disturbance call at 1:48am Friday in the 900 block of Memorial Drive in Hollister, police said.
A 20-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of public intoxication, a misdemeanor, after officers responded to a disturbance call at 12:45am Sunday at the intersection of Westside Boulevard and South Street in Hollister, police said.
Burglary
A 42-year-old Hollister man was arrested by police on suspicion of burglary, a felony, after officers responded to a theft call at 3:33pm Sunday in the 500 block of Tres Pinos Road in Hollister, police said. A man had attempted to take a 12-pack of Corona beer from Safeway without money or intention of paying, police said.
Robbery
A 17-year-old Hollister boy was arrested by police on suspicion of robbery, a felony, after officers responded to a call at 7:27pm Sunday at College and Sixth streets in Hollister, police said. A boy had used a screwdriver to rob an ice cream vendor of her bike earlier while in Dunne Park, police said.
