Michael Kuhn has earned the California Association of Realtors® Graduate, Realtor Institute GRI real estate designation. Kuhn, an active member of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, specializes in real estate sales throughout Santa Clara County.Â
The GRI is considered by many real estate industry professionals to be the most advanced and comprehensive training program available to real estate agents in North America. To earn the GRI designation, recipients must complete an intensive 14-course series. The program is designed to improve marketing, negotiating and technology skills, provide an understanding of the new disclosure and legal issues, and help agents become familiar with the latest trends in financing – all designed to assist graduates in providing the best service to consumers.
Andrew Davis
Air Force Airman Andrew P. Davis has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Davis earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is the son of Dianne Gottron of Hollister and a 2002 graduate of San Benito High School.
Matthew Shields
Matthew L. Shields has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. The six-week, two-phased orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year. The training prepares men and women to meet the rigorous mental and physical challenges experienced by new cadets.
He is the son of Melvin and Kimberly Shields of Gilroy and a 2007 graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory School, San Jose.

Hurtado/Wall
Grissol Hurtado and Christopher Wall were engaged July 20 in Napa Valley.
Grissol is the daughter of Carlos and Elva Hurtado. She received a bachelor’s degree at CSU Stanislas in Turlock. She is currently a kindergarten teacher in the Hollister School District.
Christopher is the son of Lynn Wall. He received his bachelor’s degree in business management at Ramapo State College in New Jersey. He is currently an account manager.
The couple plan a May 24, 2008 wedding.

Rachel Smith and Daniel Forbes were married Sept. 8, at the home of the groom’s parents in Gilroy.
The bride is the daughter of Dave and Terri Smith of Los Gatos. She attended The King’s Academy High School in Sunnyvale, and Foothill College in Los Altos.
The groom is the son of Lee and Renee Forbes of Gilroy. He is a graduate of California Lutheran High School in Temecula, and he attended Evergreen College in San Jose.
The couple will reside in Lompoc, California.
