The Gavilan women’s volleyball team made quick work of Hartnell College on Wednesday in a straight set victory 30-14, 30-12, 30-21.

After a point for point start which led to a 4-4 tie in game one, the Rams exploded and went on a 16-4 run, leading 20-8 before Hartnell called a timeout. The timeout did little to stop the offensive assault from the Rams front row, which helped to wrap up game one.

Jamie Temperino (Hollister) led the offense in game one with eight of her game high 19 kills.

In game two, Gavilan picked up right where it left off. The offense of the Rams was relentless while the defense never allowed a ball to hit the ground. Nicole Falcào (San Martin) led the defense all night, racking up a season high 19 digs. Teresa Hodges (San Diego), Barbie Csore (Gilroy), and Sharleen Rojas (Gilroy) combined for 22 kills while Janet Unciano (San Jose) had 31 assists.

The win moves the Rams to a 4-3 overall record and 1-0 in the Coast Conference.
