Genaro and Julie Lugo of Gilroy were married Nov. 7, 1987 at Cupids Chapel of Love in Reno, Nev. They are blessed with three children: Marc Anthony Lugo, 19, Erik Travis Lugo, 15, and Miah Rose Lugo, 2.

Abraham Benjamin Gonzales
Abraham Benjamin Gonzales was born Oct. 23, 2007 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Joleen and Benjamin Gonzales of San Juan Bautista. He weighed 8 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces.
HONORS
Students on Honor Roll
The following students from Gilroy and San Martin earned spots on the Honor Roll at Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville at the end of first quarter 2007-08: Brianna Cassara, Julia Ebmeyer, Soquel Filice, Bianca Gonzales, Sara Henderson, Ian King, Katherine Kwong, Kaitlin McHale, Heather Miranda, Warren Richardson, Estelle Richardson, Renzo Segovia and Julianna St. Geme. They each attained a grade point average of 4.0 or higher.
Cassandra Cooper
Air Force Airman Cassandra M. Cooper has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
She is the daughter of Anita Johnson of Montana and niece of Sharon Macheel of Gilroy. Cooper is a 2007 graduate of Gilroy High School.
