Bondi-Sabri
Jennifer Bondi and Nathaniel Sabri were married Aug. 20 at St. John the Divine church in Morgan Hill. Jennifer and Nathan met during their senior year at Live Oak High School, where they graduated in 1999. Jennifer received her AA degree at Gavilan Community College before transferring to the University of California, Irvine, where in 2004 she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is currently in the California Teacher Credential Program at Sacramento State University with a planned completion in the spring of 2007.
Upon finishing high school, Nathan continued his education at the University of California, Irvine. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology with an emphasis in applied ecology in 2004. He is currently in his third and final year of law school at the University of California, Davis.
The couple will reside in Davis for the remainder of their studies and intend to stay in the Northern California area upon graduation.
Jennifer is the daughter of Joseph and Shirley Bondi of Morgan Hill. Nathan is the son of James and Sandra Sabri, who now live in Tucson, Ariz.
Obata-Nakamura
Kylee Obata and Gregg Nakamura, both currently from Hawaii, were married on June 17 on Oahu. Kylee was born and raised in Gilroy and graduated from Gilroy High School in 1998. She is the daughter of Tom Obata of Gilroy and Eileen Obata of Morgan Hill. The couple met while attending college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Gregg is an engineer working for a civil engineering firm in Honolulu, and Kylee is getting her teaching credential and currently teaching high school math. Pictured with the couple is their “best friend” and ring bearer, Jaxon.
Honor
Matthew Thomas Arvizu
Matthew Thomas Arvizu of Gilroy has accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. NSCS is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and is the country’s only interdisciplinary honors organization for first- and second-year college students. Membership is by invitation only, and is based on grade point average and class standing.
Arvizu graduated from Gilroy High School in 2005.
