DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Andrew Matthew Krafft, 21, who lives in the 100 block of Dixie Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, at Fairview and Fallon roads at 1:55am on Sunday, police said.
Gerardo Padilla, 21, of 2410 Airline Highway in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, in the 900 block of Sunset Drive at 1:45am on Friday, police said.
DRUG POSSESSION:
Juan Mercado, 39, of San Jose, was arrested by San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of drugs and possession of brass knuckles, felonies, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a glass methamphetamine pipe, misdemeanors, during a traffic stop on Highway 156 at Mission Vineyard Road in San Juan Bautista at 2:11am on Saturday, police said.
Jay Martin Kats, 26, of Sunnyvale, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for possession of a MAK-90 assault rifle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of drugs, all felonies, at the entrance to the Clear Creek Management Area at 4am on Friday, police said. Deputies responded to the area for a report of shots fired, police said.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Marco Anthony Alvarez, 21, of 4231 Fairview Road in Hollister, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies in the 4200 block of Fairview Road for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, felonies, and cruelty to a child and hit and run, misdemeanors, at 6:35pm on Saturday, police said. Alvarez allegedly slapped a woman he has a relationship with twice in the face while she was holding a two-year-old child and ran into the back of her car with his car while she was trying to leave the residence, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
