BURGLARY:
Unknown suspects broke into a 1990 Honda Civic in the 1000 block of Apple Court sometime between Thursday and Monday and stole a $200 stereo, police said.
ATTEMPTED RAPE:
A 13-year-old Hollister girl alleged a Hollister male sexually assaulted her at Park Hill sometime in December after he forced her into the back seat of a car and tried to take her clothes off, police said. It was reported to police on Monday.
CHILD ABUSE:
Gretchen Monique Swart, 23, of 901 Del Rio Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 6:40pm on Monday at her home for inflicting injury to a child, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, police said. Swart took her four-year-old daughter to the emergency room at Hazel Hawkins Hospital and doctors called police because an injury to the child’s eye was suspicious, police said. Swart left the hospital before police could arrive and when officers went to her home she refused to let them in. After officers finally saw the child, who had a bruise around her entire right eye, they were not satisfied the injury was accidental, police said.
All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
