Hollister – A three-car accident on Highway 25 at Briggs Road Thursday evening sent five Hollister residents to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Hollister residents Sergio Valdez, 23, Michael Parrish, 40, and two juvenile passengers in Parrish’s car were flown to Stanford Medical Center with cuts and back and neck pain after Valdez’s BMW collided head-on with Parrish’s Cadillac, according to the CHP.
Valdez was driving southbound on Highway 25 around 6pm, when the driver of the car in front of him, 18-year-old Hollister resident Juan Guerrero, stopped to turn left onto Briggs Road. Valdez swerved to the left to avoid Guerrero’s Acura and hit Parrish head-on.
Emergency personnel closed the road for more than an hour. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the accident. An investigation is pending.
