Recently, I was on a special golf outing that required at least
one camera be brought along.
During the round, I took a picture of one of the players just as
he was making contact with a tee shot.
Recently, I was on a special golf outing that required at least one camera be brought along.
During the round, I took a picture of one of the players just as he was making contact with a tee shot.
After he had them developed and before I had a chance to see them, his wife pointed out his elbow and asked what was wrong with it.
Sure enough. He had what is called a “chicken wing.” His left elbow was bent at impact and was not extended.
After discussing why he was hitting certain types of ugly shots during a round, we went out and played. Sure enough – a major breakthrough could be seen in his swing.
He still hits the occasional ugly shot, but at least now he knows how and why it happened. Trying to keep the elbows close together during the swing and not letting them separate during impact will help cure the “chicken wing.”
