Moving Wall: The Hollister Independence Rally Committee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hollister Post 9242 is announcing the Moving Wall exhibit to be on display at the old Fremont School from June 30 to July 5. The memorial will be open around the clock. HIRC and the VFW are looking for volunteers to help set up the event and the manning of the memorial around the clock. COG Meetings: The Council of San Benito County Governments has scheduled two public hearing to discuss transit needs within San Benito County and the community is encouraged to attend. The first meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the Hollister Community Center, 300 West St. An evening meeting will take place Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the San Benito County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 481 Fourth St.

MACE Banquet: The Mexican American Committee on Education will be hosting its 34th annual Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Banquet featuring Little Joe y La Familia. The banquet will be held Saturday, May 8 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito Street. Tickets are $50 and includes dinner, Mariachi entertainment and Little Joe. Jr. Teen America: The Western States Jr. Teen America Scholarship is looking for a girl representative from Hollister age 10-13 to participate in the pageant to be held May 15-16 in Bellevue, Wash. Jr. Teen America is a nonprofit organization and the pageant is based on scholastic achievements, community service, talent and communication skills. Path of Excellence: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced its second annual scholarship program benefiting students in Silicon Valley high schools. Ten students from Santa Clara and San Benito county high schools will earn a $2,000 scholarship. Bonfante Gardens: Bonfante Gardens is looking for people to join their Docent population. Previous horticulture experience of any sort is a bonus, but definitely not a requirement.
