CHADD: Join Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder at Cerra Vista School, multipurpose room, Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A short video will be presented with questions and answers after. Pie in the Sky: Hollister United Methodist Church Children’s Ministries are sponsoring a “Pie in the Sky” auction and entertainment fund-raiser. St. Patrick’s Day: Hollister United Methodist Church is sponsoring a traditional St. Patrick’s Day Dinner. The event will be held Wednesday, March 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hollister United Methodist Church on the corner of Fifth and Monterey streets. Guys And Dolls: Roles are open for adults and young adults, ages 16 and up. Come prepared to sing a song of your choosing, not from this show. Audition dates and times are Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. (check-in at 6:30 p.m.), Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. (check-in at 1:30 p.m.) and Sunday, Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. (check in at 1:30 p.m.) All auditions will be held at the SVCT Warehouse at 8565 Monterey Road in Gilroy. Scholarships: California Women for Agriculture, Salinas Valley Chapter will be offering two scholarship programs for women in or from Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. The scholarships, women pursuing degrees in agriculture and daughters of farm workers, will be awarded to women pursuing a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree or a degree from an accredited trade school. United Way: The United Way of San Benito County announced its annual call for funding requests. Agencies and organizations meeting critical human needs of San Benito County residents are encouraged to apply. Forms are available at http://www.unitedwayofsbc.com/where.htm. Moving Wall: The Hollister Independence Rally Committee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hollister Post 9242 is announcing the Moving Wall exhibit to be on display at the old Fremont School from June 30 to July 5. The memorial will be open around the clock. HIRC and the VFW are looking for volunteers to help setup the event and the manning of the memorial around the clock. Jr. Teen America: The Western States Jr. Teen America Scholarship is looking for a girl representative from Hollister age 10-13 to participate in the pageant to be held May 15-16 in Bellevue, Wash. Jr. Teen America is a nonprofit organization and the pageant is based on scholastic achievements, community service, talent and communication skills. Path of Excellence: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage announced its second annual scholarship program benefiting students in Silicon Valley high schools. Ten students from Santa Clara and San Benito county high schools will earn a $2,000 scholarship. Students interested in being considered for the scholarship program should talk to their guidance counselor or principal. The deadline for returning applications is Friday, March 12.
Bonfante Gardens: Bonfante Gardens is looking for people to join their Docent population. Previous horticulture experience of any sort is a bonus, but definitely not a requirement. COG Meeting: The Council of San Benito County Governments has scheduled a public hearing to discuss transit needs within San Benito County and the community is encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the San Benito County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 481 Fourth St.
Candidates Forum: The 19th annual Candidates and Issues Forum will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. The forum is presented to provide an impartial venue for exposure to important issues and to meet the candidates who are running for public office on March 2. Library Meeting: The next Friends of the Library Board meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 19 at noon. The meeting will be held earlier to see if that time would be more convenient for members to attend.
