I recently returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., and I was so impressed with the action going on around me. Congress, the Senate, laws being passed, vetoed, changes occur every day. Everyone was looking out for the better of our country.
Then why are they not addressing smoking in bars and bar/restaurants? There’s nothing like eating an expensive dinner with the strong smell of smoke lingering over your table. This is our nation’s capitol. They should be in the forefront regarding health and human interest. I couldn’t believe that Washington, D.C. did not have an ordinance prohibiting smoking in bars and restaurants. Are we Californians ahead of the game? Why is our nation’s capitol so far behind on this issue? Do the policy makers not know about the hazards of second-hand smoke? It’s nice to be a Californian!
