business is new, the people behind the scenes are experienced in
towing and auto repair.
One of the most frustrating things for motorists is to be stuck on the side of the road because of a vehicle breakdown. It might be something as simple as a flat tire or as complicated as a broken transmission. Whatever the reason, B&C Towing is there to help.
Open for the past three months, B&C Towing has locations in Hollister and Gilroy. Though the business is new, the people behind the scenes are experienced in towing and auto repair.
“I’ve been in automotive all my life,” said Michael Ball, corporation president. “In ways, it’s just like being a doctor. There are just as many cars as people that need help. In addition to towing, we do roadside service. This includes tires, batteries, lock-outs and gas. We have a company that works with us for windshield repair. Eventually we hope to make our business a one stop shop.
“I’ll also do minor auto repairs right at the site. When it’s simple repairs, normally I’ll give customers the option of being towed in or fixing it on the spot. Of course safety is always an issue. I’ve changed an alternator on the side of the road and put in a water pump, but the jobs I do are usually much smaller. Once a vehicle is towed in, we’re open to do all different types of repairs. We’ll even replace engines.”
Cars and pick-up trucks aren’t the only vehicles that need towing. Motorcycles, recreational vehicles and bobtails can also be in need of a tow.
“We can’t tow 18 wheelers,” Ball said. “In addition to towing we do a lot of moving. We’ll tow display trailers, steel containers, equipment hauling, tractors. We participate in roadside assistant programs. There are a dozen different insurance companies that we do towing for. We can take care of warranty work on cars.”
B&C Towing provides 24-hour towing service for its customers. This includes local and long-distance towing, flatbed towing, damage free towing, recoveries and motorcycle towing.
“We have a fleet of five tow trucks and two service trucks,” Rosemary Ball said. “We will meet of beat any other company for towing fees. We have competitive prices. We’re one of the only towing companies that will go out to Hollister Hills.
“Though our company is new, most of us have been in and around the towing business for years. Andy Gutierrez, our main tow truck driver in Gilroy has been in the business for the last 25 years. We’re locally owned and family operated.”
In addition to the towing business, B&C Towing, Inc. also holds auto auctions.
“We have postings here on site as to what cars are available,” Rosemary said. “People are welcome to stop by during regular business hours and look at the postings to see what cars are for sale. The day of the auction cars are here on site. We usually have a car preview 30 minutes before the auction.”
B&C Towing plans on expanding its business in the near future. In the meantime, Ball continues to expand his knowledge of safer, more convenient towing methods.
“I’m a member of the California Tow Truck Association,” Ball said. “We meet several times a year to learn safer, quicker and easier ways to do our job. Our training is pretty much hands-on. The goal of our company is to give our customers the best service we can.”
