“In response to the Citizens Voice on Oct. 30 regarding Richard Place voting for years pro-growth – let me set the story straight.
Richard only voted on one subdivision during his time on the Board and that was the Paicines Ranch project which he voted against. He voted yes to allow Rancho San Benito to apply for a permit, because you can’t turn it down, as the Board did, without first accepting the application. To deny the right of the citizen to apply for anything is to deny them their right under the Constitution. All other subdivisions built during that time were voted on by Ruth Kesler, including Rancho Larieos, which she voted for except for the final vote on the water contract. It was obvious that she had traded that vote out, as she had always voted yes on that project and was up for re-election.”
“I don’t think it was wrong for the woman to briefly leave her 3-year-old in the car in front of the Tres Pinos post office. If you have seen the post office, the car and child can always be seen and it’s probably safer overall to leave the child in the car. It also ‘only takes one second’ to drop the boy or girl on their head while fumbling with the doors or mail. Perhaps the insulted (and insulting) mother of three left her common sense somewhere and can’t find it. I’m glad the police officer had his.”
