Santa Claus never turns down a free breakfast. And he’ll prove it Saturday at the Hollister Recreation Division’s fifth annual Breakfast with Santa.

The event, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Hollister Community Center, 300 West St., features free breakfast for the first 250 children ages 12 and under.

Recreation Coordinator Tina Garza said all San Benito County residents are welcome. “It saves mom and dad from having to make breakfast,” she said.

Kids can also have their pictures taken on Santa’s lap for $4.

The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes with sausage and coffee, juice or tea. Co-sponsorship by Autoworks and the Hollister Kiwanis Club allowed the breakfast to be free for kids this year, Garza said.

“In the past we’ve had about 150 people to participate,” Garza said. “And this year with the free breakfast we’re expecting more.”
