Michael Zaragoza took first at the recent USA Wrestling West Regional Championships in Idaho.
The Hollister Warriors Wrestling Club sent seven boys to Pocatello, Idaho for the championships. According to Kelly St. John, head coach from the Warriors Wrestling Club, all of the boys “represented well” against tough competition while four of the competitors did not place.
Zaragoza, though, had the strongest tournament. He placed fifth in Greco Roman and first in freestyle in the schoolboy division at 120 pounds. He went 5-0 on his way to the title.

Victor Jacinto: Intermediate 75 lbs. – 6th Greco Roman
Vincent Jacinto: Novice 85 lbs. – 4th Freestyle
Saul Gonzalez: Novice 80 lbs. – did not place
Edgar Campos III: Schoolboy 77 lbs. – did not place
Zachary Thompson: Intermediate 65 lbs. – did not place
