Snow, ice hit during cold spell
A winter rainstorm Monday turned to snow as temperatures dipped. The temperatures stayed cold several days in a row, allowing the snow that frosted local hillsides to remain late into the day on Tuesday. Ice patches also dotted cars and rooftops in Hollister throughout the week.
As of press time, the temperatures were expected to rise to the mid-to-high 50s with rain forecast for Friday through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
