Students in the Si, Se Puede! Learning Center afterschool program celebrated the end of the year by performing a talent show for family and friends.
“They’ve been practicing for two and a half weeks every day after program,” said Charles Miller, the resident service coordinator. “We had different acts from singing and dancing to playing the harmonica to a pogo stick performance.”
Miller said that any of the kids in the program who wanted to participate and were willing to come to practice were invited to do so. The staff members of the program also put together a dance for the talent show, but the majority of the acts were developed by the students.
“We had 10 acts,” Miller said. “They were actually really crowd pleasers. They got up and were bowing.”
The last day of the program for the school year was June 4 and a summer session starts June 14.
