The San Benito County Farm Bureau sponsored the annual Ag in the Classroom event at Bolado Park on Tuesday morning. Students from around the county converged on the fairgrounds to learn about agriculture from local experts. From checking out a duckling to learning about a 600-pound pig, as the students at right did, there was something for everyone. Ladd Lane students CJ Constine, 9, and Charlie Marquardt, 8, get an up-close look at a chicken. Students ask questions about how a farmer uses a horse at his ranch.
A group of students listens as local cattle rancher Joe Morris talks about his job at the Ag in the Classroom event at Bolado Park this week. Mari Rossi of B&R farms talks about apricots to students from R.O. Hardin School.
