The Hollister Animal Shelter will be closed today to allow equipment and phone lines to be transferred and installed at the new shelter, at 1331 South St.

Animal control officers will respond to emergency calls, but community members cannot drop off or adopt animals for the day. Normal operations will resume Tuesday.

The public is invited to a public exhibition of the animal shelter at 11 a.m. Saturday. Shelter employees will be giving out coupons for locator chips that can be placed on pets and coupons for free neutering.
