Barnstormers snatch division title from Panthers
As players from the Central Coast Barnstormers taped their
ankles, applied their game faces and suited up on the tailgates of
their four runners and pick up trucks, the sounds of victory spewed
from their mouths well before game time. Friends, family and pets
were there with their support, helping players prepare, with
chatter about the upcoming battle with the Coastside Panthers for
the division title. While game time inched closer, the Barnstormers
began to isolate themselves more and wives and kids kissed their
players good luck and took to the bleachers.
Barnstormers snatch division title from Panthers
As players from the Central Coast Barnstormers taped their ankles, applied their game faces and suited up on the tailgates of their four runners and pick up trucks, the sounds of victory spewed from their mouths well before game time. Friends, family and pets were there with their support, helping players prepare, with chatter about the upcoming battle with the Coastside Panthers for the division title. While game time inched closer, the Barnstormers began to isolate themselves more and wives and kids kissed their players good luck and took to the bleachers.
Without much offense being produced, the defense picked up the loose ends holding the exhausted Coastside offense to just six points for the entire game.
The Barnstormers kept Panther quarterback Dion Pickett scrambling all day and scored the only touchdown for either team in the first half. The second half kicked off and both teams began moving the ball around more with a touchdown by Panther receiver Tyrece Perry in the fourth quarter. But it wasn’t enough, as Barnstormers David Carriedo sealed up the game with a goal line touchdown late in the fourth. As tensions began to mount referees called the game with about two minutes left on the clock and the Barnstormers graciously left the field division champs.
