Members of the VFW Post 9242 honored a young local writer at a recent meeting for winning this year’s Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. The winner this year was Dominic Barrios, who read his essay aloud at the meeting. Barrios received a certificate of merit and $100 for his winning essay. His parents, John and Dena Barrios, attended the awards ceremony with him.
