After falling in its first two matches to open the 2012 season, the San Benito girls tennis squad hasn’t tasted a loss in five-consecutive matches, including Tuesday’s 6-1 win over former league opponent North Salinas.
After winning its seventh-straight Central Coast Section Division I title Saturday with a 8-3 win over Carlmont, the San Benito softball team was honored with nine Tri-County Athletic League awards including Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Pitcher.
The San Benito tennis team finished its week Friday with a 4-3 loss to Carmel. No. 1 player Kyle Skinner lost his match to Carmel’s Nick Gurnfanu in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. No. 2 player Geoff Muzik Laos lost in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
