Teens set out for ‘Big American Dreams’ at graduation

The 630 San Benito High School students who gathered in the Mattson gym Friday morning bustled with excitement as they prepared to walk out onto the playing fields for graduation. Many of the students reminisced about their favorite parts of high school, but most of them were already looking toward what the future holds.

4-H Pancake breakfast: San Benito County 4-H will host a pancake breakfast April 21, from 7 a.m. to noon at Bolado Park. The meal is $5 per person and includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, milk and juice. The annual breakfast is hosted by all the 4-H groups in the county and will benefit programs. The Baler Education Foundation held its Ninth Annual FameFest on March 23 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year seven people were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

ART 105 show open through April: San Benito High School students will have artwork on display at the Blak Sage Gallery through April 21, at 727 San Benito St. The gallery is open Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, from noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., and April 14 and 21, from noon to 5 p.m. An artists’ reception will be held April 13, from 3 to 6 p.m., with music and light refreshments.
