HONORS: Attalyssa Berg: Attalyssa Berg, of Gilroy, was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University during the recently completed fall 2014 semester. To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale.

BIRTH: Luca Cariglio: Luca Anthony Alexander Cariglio was born Feb. 6, 2015 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Iona and Anthony Cariglio of San Martin. He weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces.

ENGAGEMENT: Martinez/Debniak: Vanessa Rosita Martinez and Alex Debniak are engaged to be married.

ENGAGEMENT: Kastle/Swanson: Sarah Michele Kastle and Jason James Swanson are engaged to be married.

HONORS: Cordero Gonzales: The Lone Star Conference released the 2014-15 fall semester honor roll. The list of honorees included 882 student athletes from nine schools, including Cordero Gonzales of Gilroy.

Cordero Gonzales: Cordero Gonzales, of Gilroy, was named to Eastern New Mexico University’s dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours with a GPA between 3.25 and 4.00.

ANNIVERSARY

Macey Mitchell: Macey Mitchell, from Christopher High School in Gilroy, is one of more than 700 high school cheerleaders and dancers from across the United States who will perform in the London New Year's Day Parade.

ENGAGEMENT: Kennedy/Prosser: Carol Jeanne (Carly) Kennedy and Bertram Llewellyn Prosser are engaged.
