Sans: Waiting on rain storms in South County

As I sit and write this column today (at midweek,) I’m looking out my window at some dark clouds and hoping they will bring in buckets full of rain later today. This has been one of the driest winters that I can remember. Many people, including us, have already started shipping their cattle.

Whew, it’s been a busy couple of weeks down here in South County; I haven’t even had time to write my column! Well, it's about time. We finally had a nice round of showers down here in South County. We couldn't wait on Mother Nature much longer and she finally came through. The grass is already greener down here and folks are in a lot better mood.

Happy 2012 everyone. I hope you all had a safe and happy new year celebration. The only thing that could have made our new year better was if it were pouring down rain.
