It didn't go as planned for the San Benito wrestling squad Saturday at Palma High in the Tri-County Athletic League championships, but the Balers will be represented well at the Central Coast Section tournament Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 in San Jose.

The San Benito girls basketball team won its final road game of the Tri-County Athletic League season Thursday, defeating league-leaders Salinas 42-39.

The San Benito boys basketball team stayed one game behind Tri-County Athletic League leader Palma on Wednesday night, defeating Alisal 63-23.

Both the Gilroy High and San Benito boys soccer teams entered Wednesday's must-win match with the feeling that there was more to be done after a 1-1 draw in the teams' first encounter.
