Local surgeon offers knee implant
HOLLISTER
– Scott G. Kantor, a local surgeon, is one of the first to offer
the Oxford partial knee implant. The implant procedure removes 75
percent less bone than total knee replacements and allows for a
more rapid recovery with less pain and more natural motion. In the
procedure only one side of the knee
joint is replaced as compared to all of the knee joint surfaces
in a total knee replacement. It is used when knee osteoarthritis
has only occurred in the inside joints of the knee.
