Cortez Shoe Repair has opened on San Benito Street and offers a variety of services related to leather goods.

The business, which had been in Prunedale, moved up the highway and opened on Nov. 7 at 349 San Benito St., one reason being to have a larger population to serve, said owner Maribel Sanchez.

Sanchez described how the business does shoe repair such as work to soles and heels, but it also fixes zippers, jackets, stitching and whatever else customers might need done to their merchandise.

“Just about anything that has to do with leather,” Sanchez said.

The business is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, she said.
