10th-grader Elizabeth Ha of Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill was one of four students who received a $100 scholarship in 2012 from the South County Student Opportunity and Access Program known as Cal-SOAP.

South County Cal-SOAP is hosting an end-of-the-year celebration to honor the group’s scholarship recipients.
This year, students will receive a total of $166,500 in scholarships from the consortium. California Student Opportunity and Access Program provides low-income and first-generation students with access to the tools they need to pursue post-secondary education.
The consortium serves students in four school districts including the San Benito High School District, the Aromas-San Juan Unified School District, the Gilroy Unified School District and the Morgan Hill Unified School District
Graduates from Anzar and San Benito high schools, as well full-time college students who are graduates from one of the four districts the consortium serves,are eligible for the group’s scholarships. This, year, the consortium is also honoring Mustang Express graduates, Cal-SOAP Students of the Month, and Four-Year Cal-SOAP students.
The celebration and awards presentation includes dinner and will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 13 at the Gilroy High School Centennial Circle at 750 W. Tenth Street in Gilroy.
