The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 942 will be hosting an annual
Easter egg hunt April 11 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park on
Memorial Drive. There will be three hunting groups divide by age
group: 2-4; 5-7; and 8-10. There will also be some special eggs in
the hunting area.

Wildlife flower hike

Join a Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park ranger for a moderate 4- to 5-mile hike to view the wildflowers along the Coyote Ridge and Calaveras trails. Participants have the chance to see rare serpentine habitat where rare wildflowers and the threatened bay checker-spot butterflies live. Meet at the Coyote Lake Dame parking area at the end of Coyote Lake Road, near Gilroy. A $6 vehicle entrance fee is charged. Wear hard-soled shoes, and bring water and a snack. Pet Friends fashion show

Pet Friends will host a benefit luncheon-fashion show in the Diablo dining room at the Ridgemark Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18. The event will include a raffle and silent auction, lunch and fashions by She’s. Tickets are $25 each and are available at Pet Friends, She’s, Postnet and Ridgemark. Annual Crab Feed

The Hollister Exchange Club’s 22nd annual Crab Feed will be held at the Bolado Park Pavilion on April 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Dancing, with music provided by “The Dadz,” starts at 9. A wine auction will precede dinner and a silent auction will be held at the informal event, which includes all the crab you can eat along with salad, pasta and garlic bread. Proceeds from the $35 tickets will benefit the Exchange Club’s local youth programs. Healthy Kids Day

The YMCA of San Benito County is hosting Healthy Kids Day April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the YMCA office, 339 Fifth St. The free event will include vendor booths, games and activities. Families can try out a free fitness class. Some options include yoga, tai chi, palates, karate, stability ball and piyo. The Mobile Shark Tank and S.J. Sharkie, the mascot for the San Jose Sharks, will be visiting Hollister during the event. The team donated equipment to start an NHL street hockey league through the local YMCA. Open Studios Tour

The San Benito Open Studios tour is April 25 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a self-guided tour of artists’ studios in Hollister, Aromas and San Juan Bautista. The artists work in mediums such as clay, paint, jewelry making and weaving, among others. The tour is a chance to interact with the artists and see their work in the place where they create it. The San Benito Stage Company presents Aladdin Jr. starting May 1 through May 10, at the Granada Theater. ‘Late Nite Catechism’

The longest running one-person show in Chicago’s theater history will be performed at Sacred Heart St. Benedict, Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 3, at 3 p.m., in O’Reilly Hall, 670 College St. The show, ‘Late Nite Catechism,’ is an interactive play, where the actress playing the nun acts as though the audience members are her catechism students. An Evening in Paris

Court Appointed Special Advocates of San Benito County will be hosting “An Evening in Paris Dinner and Dance,” Friday, May 22, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at San Juan Oaks Golf Club. Dog Days of Hollister

The Hollister Dog Owners Group will be hosting the Dog Days of Hollister May 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dunne Park, West and Sixth streets. Well-behaved dogs over 6 months of age and their owners are invited to attend. Dogs should be on a leash at all times and have proof of a current rabies vaccination. Children under 12 or free. There is a $3 entrance fee for adults, $2 with donation of dog food. The event will include vendors and rescue groups, as well as a pooch parade, a costumer contest and other dog contest.
