‘Three Artists, Three Visions’

The Blak Sage Gallery of Fine Art will be hosting “Three Artists, Three Visions,” through June 30, 727 San Benito Street, in Hollister. The show will feature the works of Katherine Stutz-Taylor, Pauline Lepera-Price and Carolyn Mitchell. ‘Treasure Island’

The 2010 Forest Theater Guild’s Centennial Season will be presenting Treasure Island the play in Carmel at the Outdoor Forest Theater from May 28 to June 20. Treasure Island is a story about a band of unsavory pirates who are pitted against the young hero Jim Hawkins. Tickets will begin being sold in late February. Texas Hold’em tournament

The Hollister City Employee Relay for Life Team is hosting the 4th Texas Hold’em Tournament June 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Portguese Hall, 695 Seventh St., in Hollister. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event includes prizes for the top 10 finishers, as well as complimentary beverages and snacks. The cost is $40 a person and goes to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Re-Buys are $20 and one add-on is $40. Light out of Shadow

San Jose Productions will be presenting Light Out of Shadow featuring The Choral Project. The Choral Project offers a program with a poignant message of freedom, social change, and finding light in times of darkness. The event will be held June 5, at 8 p.m. and June 6, at 2 p.m. at Mission Santa Clara de Asis located at 500 El Camino Real. Tickets are $25 general admission and $18 for students and seniors children under 10 are fee. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit Amnesty International. Wag N Walk

Pet Friends will be hosting its Wag N Walk, June 12, at 9 a.m. The event is a 5K family fun run/walk around the Graniterock Southside Sand and Gravel Quarry, in Hollister. Four-legged friends are welcome to join in the race. Event registration is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Individuals are $15 and a family pack is $40 for four people. Pets are free. West Side Theatre show

Diana Donnelly and The Yes Ma’ams are a bluegrass and vintage country music band that have been performing for Northern California audiences for years and will be performing along with Black Crown Stringband, which is a combination of bluegrass and old-time music, at the West Side Theatre, 1331 Main St. The bands will perform June 12. A glimpse of the past

The San Benito County Historical Society is conducting an historic walking tour of downtown Hollister June 12, at 9 a.m. The tour will begin at the Wapple House Museum, 498 Fifth St. The cost is $5 per person or $8 per family and includes a copy of the “Welcome to Historic Downtown Hollister” brochure. Fort Benito Cub Scout Day Camp is celebrating 25 years with the Silver Stampede June 12, at 6 p.m., at Bolado Park. A Meet and Greet starts at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person. The event will include food, memorabilia from 25 years of camp and chance for all to share their experiences. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a Taize evening worship, June 13, at 6:30 p.m., at 720 Monterey St. This candle-lit service will be in the meditative style of the ecumenical community in Taize, France. It consists of simple sung prayers.

Pacheco State Park’s Ninth Kite Day

The ninth Kite Day will be held at Pacheco State Park. The event will be noon to 4 p.m. Kite-fliers will receive a souvenir Kite Day button. There will be other activities and families are encouraged to bring a kite, hats and/or sunscreen, drinking water, lawn chairs and a picnic lunch. A vendor will have hot dogs and beverages available. Early Days in San Juan

The Plaza History Association will host Early Days June 19 and 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the San Juan Bautista Historical Park, between Washington and Mariposa Streets. Bring the family and enjoy a look at yesterday as costumed docents bring the past into the present. Meet the people of early California, including miners, mountain men, Civil War soldiers and Victorian ladies. The event includes craft and cooking demonstrations, rides in a horse-drawn wagon, old-fashioned sodas and card games in the saloon. Tickets are $3, 16 and under are free.

Gavilan hosts theater reunion

The Gavilan College Theater Reunion Cast and Crew presents a show of all-time favorite plays from Gavilan’s past. An ensemble cast from “Grease,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Hair,” “Apple Tree,” and many more will reprise their roles on the Gavilan stage June 19, at 4 p.m., 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., in Gilroy. Old Mission San Juan Fiesta

Old Mission San Juan Bautista will hold its annual fiesta honoring its patron saint St. John the Baptist, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the olive garden adjacent to the Mission. The even is family oriented, including a chicken barbecue, entertainment, game booths for kids and various ethnic food and beverage booths. There is no charge to enter the grounds. The chicken barbecue is put on by the San Juan Service Club, and tickets are $10 per plate. The event is a joint fundraising effort for the maintenance and restoration of the mission. The Hollister United Methodist Church is hosting the “All You Can Eat” Annual Pancake Breakfast July 3 and 17, from 8 a.m. to noon. The menu consists of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $10 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under. Take-outs are available. Ansel Adams: Portrait of America opens July 10, at the Monterey Museum of Art-La Mirada located at 720 Via Mirada in Monterey. High School Alumni Scholarship Fundraiser

The San Benito High School Class of 1971 Scholarship will hold their third annual fundraiser at Veterans Memorial Park in Hollister on Saturday July 17. The fundraiser will include a barbecue and silent auction, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person, and everyone is invited. The class of 1971 Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who plan to attend a college, university, technical school, or vocational school.
