The San Benito High School drama club will be performing their
spring production of

Anything Goes

starting March 26 through March 29, at 7 p.m at the San Benito
High School auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for
students with an ASB stamp or children 10 and under; $6 for
students with an SBHS ID; and $7 for general admission. Tickets are
available at the student payment center or at the door.

Cerra Vista science night

Cerra Vista Elementary School is hosting a Family Science Night March 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school, 2151 Cerra Vista Drive. Students and their families can participate in activities involving rockets, robots and other science-related items. The science lab will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. so kids can play with magnets, plant seeds and get involved in other-hands on fun. A presenter will teach families about rockets and robots at 7 p.m. There will be a raffle with prizes such as whale watching passes, Laguna Seca race tickets or admission to the Children’s Discovery Museum. Guitar music

It’s going to be a guitar night for everyone: acoustic blues (finger-picking, slide and vocals); followed by Gypsy Jazz with a modern American accent as Gilroy Guitar Gallery presents an up and coming solo artist and the Monterey Bay Area’s Premier Gypsy Jazz Ensemble. Friday, March 20th, 7:30 pm at the Gaslighter Theater, 7430 Monterey Street, Gilroy. Tickets, just $12, are available at Gilroy Guitar Gallery, 64 5th Street, Gilroy or by calling 408-847-6350. The performers have opened for such artists as Etta James, Keb Mo, Leon Redbone, and more.

Nan Pipestem fundraiser

The Nan Pipestem Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will host its 13th annual dinner dance and silent auction March 21, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club. Music provided by Rudy Salcedo, Charlie Root and Butche Oyao. Circle of Reflection

The Hollister Japanese Temple Garden will be hosting a Circle of Reflection Tea Ceremony March 28, at 1 p.m. at 920 Riverside Road, in Hollister. Minako Tsuji, a professor, will demonstrate the tea ceremony under the cherry blossoms, followed by a meditation ceremony led by Don Belt. Tsuji is a graduate of Kyoto Women University and when she was in Kyoto she learned the tea ceremony of Urasenke. She received a tea teaching diploma Junkyo in 1997, Chamei in 1981 and Kyoju in 2008. She started teaching tea ceremony at Hakone Garden in 1985, and teaches it every Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 637-6361.

Aromas School casino night and auction

The Aromas Home and School Club will be hosting a fundraiser March 28, at 6 p.m. at San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister. Tickets are $50 each and include food, wine tasting, casino cash, a silent auction and dancing. The silent auction includes donations from community businesses as well as baskets created by the Aromas School classes. The fundraiser will support Aromas School students, staff and teachers. Wildflower day

The public is invited to Pacheco State Park March 28, for the 6th annual wildflower day from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. People from the state parks, Fish and Game, the Native Plant Society and other organizations will be on hand to answer questions. A birding walk starts at 9:30 a.m., with a wildflower hike at 10 a.m., and a history walk at noon. There is a $5 per car fee for day use in the park. Rotary scholarship fundraiser

The Hollister rotary is hosting a community take-out BBQ as a fundraiser for their scholarship programs April 4. The barbecue includes a whole seasoned tri-tip and loaf of garlic bread for $25. Pickup will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the 400 block of San Benito Street, near the Briggs Building. Tickets are available from any Rotary member. Cioppino feed benefit

Stop by the Casa Maria Parish Hall, 600 First St., in San Juan Bautista April 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a Cioppino feed. Tickets are $35 and will benefit the Community Pantry. The event is hosted by the Pantry and Mission San Juan Bautista.

A taste of Teatro

El Teatro Campesino will be hosting a 44th anniversary celebration April 4, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $44 each without a table, or $200 for a table of four. Rock pile rendezvous

Pinnacles National Monument staff are hosting the second annual rock pile rendezvous April 4, on the East side of the park at 10 a.m. Guests can follow the routes of legends and meet with climbing organizations. Pet Friends will host a benefit luncheon-fashion show in the Diablo dining room at the Ridgemark Golf Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18. Annual Crab Feed

The Hollister Exchange Club’s 22nd annual Crab Feed will be held at the Bolado Park Pavilion on April 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Dancing, with music provided by “The Dadz,” starts at 9. A wine auction will precede dinner and a silent auction will be held at the informal event, which includes all the crab you can eat along with salad, pasta and garlic bread. Proceeds from the $35 tickets will benefit the Exchange Club’s local youth programs. Aladdin Jr

The San Benito Stage Company presents Aladdin Jr starting May 1 through May 10, at the Granada Theater.
