Hillside Christian Fellowship celebrates 10 years
Hillside Christian Fellowship will be hosting special events
Nov. 6-8 to celebrate 10 years working in San Benito County. Dave
Patterson, the founding pastor of Father’s House in Vacaville, will
visit the church Nov. 6 at 7 p.m., at 281 San Felipe Road, in
Hollister. On Nov. 7, at 6 p.m., David Cannistraci, the senior
pastor of Gateway Church in San Jose, will visit. On Nov. 8, a
special service honoring community agencies will be held at 10:30
a.m. with David Kiteley, who serves Shiloh Church in Oakland. Mayor
Eugenia Sanchez and Sheriff Curtis Hill will speak at the service,
and dozen local agencies will be recognized for their work in the
community. The event will include a slide presentation and
testimonials, as well as a buffet luncheon. At 6 p.m., Ernest
Gentile, the founding pastor of Christian Community Church in San

‘Little Shop of Horrors’

The San Benito Stage Company presents the teen musical, ‘The Little Shop of Horrors,’ at the Granada Theatre, on 336 Fifth St., through Nov. 8. ‘Showcasing Our Local Artists’ show opens

The Hollister Art League will be hosting the “Showcasing Our Local Artists” art show now through Nov. 14, at the Blak Sage Gallery, 727 San Benito St., in Hollister. ‘Sleeping Beauty’

Monterey Peninsula College Storybook Theatre presents ‘Sleeping Beauty’ through Nov. 22. Opening night performance will be on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. and will include a pizza meal at $3 per person. Youth cheerleading clinic

The San Benito High School Baler Cheer Squads invite kids ages 5 to 14 to participate in a cheerleading clinic on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mattson gym, located at the high school, off of Nash Road. Registration fees start at $30 by Oct. 23 and go up to $35 after Oct. 23. Participants will learn cheer routines and be invited to perform at the JV football game on Nov. 13. Free Wheelers season opener

Harvest bazaar

The women of the Hollister United Methodist Church will hold their annual Harvest Bazaar Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall on Fifth and Monterey streets. The Trinity Lutheran Church, Trivent and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a ‘Joy to the World’ craft fair Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2300 Airline Hwy. The Sacred Heart Foundation will be hosting a dinner and dance on Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at San Juan Oaks, 3825 Union Road. Brian Hackney, a correspondent for CBS 5’s “Eye On The Bay,” will be the guest speaker for the evening. Hackney is a native of California born Hollister. He graduated from Sacred Heart Parish School in 1971 and San Benito High School in 1975. Tickets for the event will be $65 per person or $520 for a table with sponsor recognition. The Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project will be hosting its 32nd annual albacore dinner on Saturday, Nov. 14 starting with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. at the Castroville Recreation Center, 11261 Crane St. Tickets for the fundraiser are $17 and will sold at the door.
