competing in the Golden State Association of Christian Schools’
academic and fine arts competition in Santa Maria this month.
Students from Calvary Christian School in Hollister are competing in the Golden State Association of Christian Schools’ academic and fine arts competition in Santa Maria this month.

The annual event tests students’ ability in artistic disciplines from music to speech.

In the musical competition, Deanna Hallberg placed first in High School Sacred Piano and Cristina Gomez placed second in Jr. High Sacred Piano. Christopher Ball placed third in Instrumental Brass Solo.

The Quartet, under the direction of Dean Hallberg, placed second. The members are Cyndi Ortiz, Deanna Hallberg, Christopher Ball and Sam Robinson.

Christopher Ball placed first in Expository Preaching, Amanda Diaz placed third in Black and White Photography. Deanna Hallberg placed second in High school math, Chris Roybal placed-second in Jr. High math and Royce Ruiz place third in High school Political Science/Economics. Cristina Gomez placed third in calligraphy.

The Senior High Bible Quiz Team under the direction of Pastor Ball placed second. The members are Kristine Atkins, Christopher Ball, Amanda Diaz, Cristina Gomez, Deanna Hallberg, John Lafaver, Cyndi Ortiz and Royce Ruiz.
