Carolyn (Borges) Savard- Pellan, 95, of Bristol, R.I. died
Sunday Sept. 5, 2004, at St. Elizabeth’s Manor. She was the wife of
the late Alfred Savard and Leo Pelland.
Carolyn (Borges) Savard- Pellan, 95, of Bristol, R.I. died Sunday Sept. 5, 2004, at St. Elizabeth’s Manor. She was the wife of the late Alfred Savard and Leo Pelland.

Born in Plymouth, Mass., a daughter of the late Antone and Marie Borges, she was raised in Bristol before moving to Naugatuck, Conn. and then to Hollister before returning to Bristol in 1965.

She was a graduate of Hazel Hawkins Hospital School of Nursing in Hollister in 1959, receiving a licensed vocational nurse degree and continued on their staff until 1965. Upon returning to Bristol, she worked as a nurse at a Rhode Island hospital and was the industrial nurse at the U.S. Rubber Company until she joined the staff at nursing home until her retirement in 1983.

Mrs. Savard-Pelland was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church. She enjoyed crafts, needlepoint, crocheting and knitting.

She leaves two sons, Walter A. Savard of Bristol and Russell J Savard of St. Augustine, Fla.; two sisters, Josephine “Jay” Barrett and Emily Camera, both of Bristol; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was the mother of the late Alfred Savard and sister of the late John, Anthony, Joseph and George Borges, Mary Almeida and Margaret Botelho.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Sept. 9.
