Longtime San Benito county residents Danny and Bertha Valencia
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Honolulu, Hawaii. The
Hollister couple were joined on the occasion by two daughters and
their husbands, Eleanor and Steve Miller, Phyllis and Carlos
Vasquez. Close friends Francis and Wayne Baggett flew in from
Oklahoma to help celebrate Danny and Bertha’s 60th wedding
anniversary. The pair were married August 28, 1951 in Reno,
Nevada.

Longtime San Benito county residents Danny and Bertha Valencia celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Hollister couple were joined on the occasion by two daughters and their husbands, Eleanor and Steve Miller, Phyllis and Carlos Vasquez. Close friends Francis and Wayne Baggett flew in from Oklahoma to help celebrate Danny and Bertha’s 60th wedding anniversary. The pair were married August 28, 1951 in Reno, Nevada.

Danny, son of the late Manuel and Nellie Valencia, retired from Tri-Valley Cannery as a forklift operator and currently works part-time at the Hollister Community Center. His wife Bertha, daughter of the late Mike and Paula Garcia also retired from Tri-Valley Cannery. They have seven children, Theresa, Eleanor, Phyllis, Eddie, Julie, Leonard and Paula. The family has grown and now includes 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Prior to their trip to Hawaii, they celebrated their anniversary at a luncheon held at Jardines in San Juan Bautista with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
