Bourdet’s Christmas Trees in San Benito County once again will donate to the Trees for Troops program run by the National Christmas Tree Association.

This is the fourth year of involvement from the local business, which opens its seasonal Christmas tree operation Friday.

Bourdet’s, located at 1271 Los Viboras Road, has been in business for more than two decades and started donating to the national cause for the troops in 2006. The family business can choose each year how many Christmas trees it wishes to donate, said Tina Bourdet, and FedEx comes by to pick them up.

From there, the trees either are sent to troops overseas or to their family members at home, she said.

Look to the Weekend Pinnacle’s business page for more on Bourdet’s Christmas Trees opening this week.
