“To the author of ‘stick with me folks.’ The Board of Supervisors already has the right man for the job as Marshal.

Robert Scattini has done a great job as Marshal and City Councilman. He puts in a lot of hours doing his job and doing it well.

As for you and your friend ‘who want to change things in the Marshal’s office,’ aren’t both of you being paid with public funds, and at the city’s and county’s expense, you must be taking the time to follow the marshal around to know where and when his car is parked or where he is having lunch. I just wonder when it became illegal to have lunch or go to a restaurant?

Oh one last question: Are you also the same people who have nothing better to do than watch to see when and where the D.A. is having coffee?

Unless you are the lunch and coffee police, I would say you have too much time on your hands and as a taxpayer I am angry at you for wasting my money and abusing my public funds.”

“Must have hit a nerve in Reb’s camp. Let me reiterate that my concern was that Reb was hesitating on campaign spending limits. You failed to mention that in your response.

You silly goose, I said in my letter he wasn’t running for re-election so why should he be hesitant to enact campaign contributions unless of course he is assisting to seat pro-growth candidates.

You know how sometimes you just have a gut feeling, well that’s the feeling I get with Reb. It’s the same feeling I had with one-termer Richard Place.

Yes, I am a Measure G supporter because I know how sneaky developers are.

Reb was the only county supervisor against it and that’s his right just as it’s mine to support Measure G.

When you have seen what I have seen in the last three decades in the development and political scenes and your kids are third generation Hollister born residents without the option of future affordable housing or jobs then I have every right to be skeptical. I don’t think I am alone here.

We will see what Reb is made of and I hope he proves me wrong, but he will have to prove his loyalty with the preservation of all prime ag land before I am going change my mind.

One more thing about Measure G opponents: You would be much more credible if there weren’t so many realtors and property owners with developable land in the mix. You’re not fooling us again.

Here is the message that I am sending Measure G opponents. When you can prove to me/us that your hearts are in the right place and not in your future bank accounts, then and only then will I believe that it’s ‘smart’ growth.

You’re not there yet.”

“I saw four City of Hollister trucks parked at Country Kitchen Wednesday morning around 9:15 a.m. Seems a little early for a coffee break. Seems a little late for coffee before work.”
